
History of Saint-Petersburg: The exhibition “Leningrad in anticipation of Victory. 1941-1945’
The State Museum of Urban Sculpture (St. Petersburg) on 24 June 2015 opens the exhibition project "Leningrad in anticipation of victory. 1944-1945".
The exhibition project, timed to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, is dedicated to an exciting and challenging period in the history of the city, which began after the liberation from the fascist blockade and victorious volleys ended in May 1945. Visitors will get acquainted with rare photographs provided by the Central State Archive of Audiovisual Documents of St. Petersburg, the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo revealing different aspects of the post blockaded recovery of Leningrad.
The exhibition presents things and objects that keep the spirit of the era, chronicling wartime memories of witnesses, as well as art installations, prepared by the students of the St. Petersburg University of Technology and Design. The exhibition project is implemented with the participation of the St. Petersburg Military Historical Society.
The exhibition will run until August 5, 2015.
