Society and culture: "Alphabet of Desyatinka" art project is presented at the Museum of Art of Novgorod Land
A presentation of art project entitled the “Alphabet of Desyatinka” takes place on June 19, 2015, at the State Museum of Art of Novgorod Land.
Young designers of Veliky Novgorod, a third year students of Environmental Design major of Novgorod Regional College of Arts named after S. V. Rachmaninov have designed this art project.
Art project includes poster and exposition layout, where complex historical information about the Desyatinny Monastery complex and nearby territory presented in plain language of letters, which is easy for both children and adults. Use of the alphabet, as a method for reading the information, is entirely consistent with ABC’s primary purpose — to be the basis for understanding, comprehension, and satisfaction of curiosity. Designers used the method of immersion in the environment of the Desyatinny Monastery, created a dictionary of forms on the basis of this method, which then embodied in the new exposition layout.
This project will increase the capacity of the museum’s work with visitors and will draw attention of Novgorod locals, as well as the guests of Veliky Novgorod, being at the same time a logical addition to "The Cultural Heritage of Novgorod Monasteries" exhibition.
