Internet and culture: “Literary Russia” project opened on the Google Cultural Institute website

The project "Literary Russia" dedicated to the Year of Literature opened on the platform of the Google Cultural Institute. The project gives an opportunity to make a virtual tour of the manors of Russian writers. Seven museums joined the project providing their digitized archives and the possibility to remotely make tours of their exposition halls.

The project "Literary Russia" enabled to unite the largest literary estates on a common platform, digitize the collections and make them fully accessible to all lovers of Russian literature in Russia and abroad.

The following museums joined the project: Alexander Pushkin Historical and Literary Museum-Reserve (manor "Zakharovo" and "Vyazёmy"), Anton Chekhov State Literary-Memorial Museum-Reserve "Melikhovo", Leo Tolstoy Museum-Reserve "Yasnaya Polyana", Fedor Tyutchev Manor "Muranovo", Miklail Lermontov House Museum, Alexander Herzen House-Museum, Mikhail Prishvin House-Museum.

On a computer screen you can see the monuments, memorabilia of famous writers, their desks, manuscripts, visit the exhibitions, which are opened in the museum-estate. You can also admire old historic parks, follow their alleys.

Google Cultural Institute exists since 2011 and brings together more than 500 partners from 60 countries
