The Year of Literature in Russia 2015: “The world of Goncharov’s novels” exhibition in Ulyanovsk
As part of the main literary project of the Ulyanovsk region "Twelve Literary Apostles of Simbirsk," timed to the Year of Literature, the Exhibition Hall of the Historical and Memorial Center Museum Ivan Goncharov (Ulyanovsk) opened the exhibition "World of Goncharov's novels."
The exhibition is based on the collections of the Goncharov Museum and materials provided by the Ulyanovsk artists. Most of the works, devoted to the life and work of Ivan Goncharov, whose birthday falls on June 18, to the romanticism of his journey aboard the frigate "Pallada", characters and plots of his novels, is demonstrated for the first time.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is an animated video, in which the topography of the "Precipice" is superimposed on the real estate of the nobles Kindyakovs located in the village of Teren’ga, Ulyanovsk region. Created on the basis of materials provided by an Ulyanovsk artist and ethnographer A. Titovsky, the animated video will show the sites of Kindyakovka included in the fabric of the novel, as well as routes of the central characters of the "Precipice" in the described areas.
The exhibition will run until July 5.
