15 June 2015

Museum of World Russian-language Press may appear in Moscow. The initiative of its creation belongs to the Director of the State Archive of the Russian Federation Sergey Mironenko. The proposal was supported by the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The idea of creating a special depositary was announced during the visit to the exhibition dedicated to Russian-language editions published during the Great Patriotic War in different parts of the world. The exhibition, which opened as part of the World Congress of Russian Press, features copies of newspapers from China, Latin America and other countries. There are also handwritten leaflets distributed in the Nazi camp Buchenwald.

Dmitry Medvedev proposed to acquire this kind of newspapers when it is possible in order to keep them in Russia.
