Information technology and libraries: Literary project “Mobile library” increases funds

MTS Company announced the launch of the second phase of the federal socio-educational project "Mobile Library" by which owners of mobile devices based on operating systems iOS, Android and Windows can download free e-books on their smart phones or tablets.

The library fund has doubled: now, in addition to an electronic resource "Samolit", the project was joined one of the largest Russian e-book stores "LitRes" to provide "Mobile library" the best books.

Algorithm of downloads of the liked book is simple: in places where there are special stands of "Mobile library", you need to point the camera of your mobile device on the QR-code, placed on the spine of the book to go with it on the project's website and download the selected product in any of the three popular formats (epub, fb2 and txt).

Virtual "bookshelves", which can already be found in 40 regions of Russia, provide access to the works of Russian and foreign classics, contemporary fiction, bestsellers and children's books. In some regions, the mobile library is also planned to include works by local authors in local languages.
