 
  World culture: The exhibition “Masterpieces from the Hermitage: heritage of Catherine the Great” in Australia
      From July 31, 2015 the Hermitage masterpieces from the private collection of Catherine the Great are presented at the National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne, Australia).
The period of the reign of Catherine II - from 1762 to 1796 years is called the golden age mainly due to her patronage of the arts, literature and education. Residents of Melbourne and its guests will be able to see outstanding works of Rembrandt, Velazquez, Rubens and Titian. Some works by Van Dake, Snyders, Teniers and Hall are also presented.
The exhibition is organized by the State Hermitage Museum, the National Gallery of Victoria and the organization Art Exhibition Australia in the annual series "Winter masterpieces" and will run until November 8, 2015.
The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) - is one of the oldest and most important art museums in Australia, the owner of one of the finest art collections in the world.
