History and culture: “Poetry of wooden architecture” photo exhibition to open in Kolomenskoye

18 August 2015

August 18, 2015, a photo exhibition "Poetry of wooden architecture" of photographer Kidara Diamanta opened in a mansion of the tsar and the princes in the Palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich in Kolomenskoye (Moscow). It is dedicated to the authentic monuments and recreated wooden constructions in the territory of Kolomenskoye. A fortified tower of Nikolo-Korelsky Monastery, fortifications of the famous north fortress of the Sumy prison, household building in the village of Preobrazhenskoye, the Church of St. George the Martyr in the Arkhangelsk region, the Palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich – these are the buildings that struck the author by their original and massive architectural forms, unique décor and bright colors.

The chamber space, which separates the solemn mansion of the king from the mansion of the princes in the Palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, houses the author's photographs, where slightly altered angles, such as "shooting at ground level" or "from the height of an object," complement the plot of the exposition with acuteness of perception and unconventional look at the subject. This vision of monuments has its own beauty of lines and plasticity similar to the poetry by subtlety and sensuality of perception.

In order to present the conceived story and the meaning of the content of the image more successfully, the author showed the system of various methods to reflect the still, which add artistic expression and colorful texture to the picture.

The photo exhibition "Poetry of wooden architecture" will run through November 22, 2015.
