
The Presidential Library: New acquisitions
The Presidential Library collection has been enriched with materials from the State Public Historical Library, the Leningrad Regional State Archive in Vyborg, the Ahmed-Zaki Validi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Bryansk Regional Research Universal Library and private collections.
New acquisitions include the publications devoted to the beginning of the Romanov dynasty, the time of Alexander I and individual territories at different periods.
Two editions of A. P. Belkovsky - Election to the throne of the first tsar of the house of Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov (Moscow, 1913) and the First tsar of the House of Romanov Mikhail Feodorovich (Moscow, 1913) - dedicated to the last event, which ended the terrible years of the Time of Troubles in Russia - the election to the Zemsky Sobor in 1613 the founder of the second and last ruling dynasty in Russia - Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov.
The study of lieutenant-general, a military lawyer, historian M. M. Borodkin History of Finland. Time of Alexander I (St. P., 1909) examined the background and progress of Russian-Swedish war of 1808-1809, its results, actions of the Russian administration in Finland. In this context, it highlights the activities of P. A. Arakcheev and M. M. Speransky. There were analyzed the actions of the Finnish aristocracy, their attitude to Russia. The issues of constitutional governance and broad autonomy, which won Finland's internal affairs, are discussed. Much attention is paid to the connection of Vyborg province, which was by then a part of Russia, to the newly added Finland. The statistical collection of the Ministry of Commerce State trade in 1804 in its various forms (St. Petersburg, 1804) contains digital information on the foreign trade of the Russian Empire during the given period.
The collection Don Cossacks during the Patriotic War of 1812 (Moscow, 1942) presented a wealth of material dedicated to the participation of the Don Cossacks in the war of 1812. The publication describes the actions of the Don Cossacks in the fight against Napoleon's troops, the collection of militia-on-Don, the first success Cossack militia in battle, the defeat of Napoleon's army in Russia. The appendix contains a letter Kutuzov, his magazines, reports of military operations. The same section includes materials of the foreign press of that time (England, Austria), related to the events of 1812. The collection as a whole gives a vivid picture of high patriotism, courage, bravery and courage of the Don Cossacks in the struggle with the enemy.

The photo albums Faces of Russia (Bryansk, 2013) and Image (Bryansk, 2014) of one of the leading city of Bryansk photo artist A. N. Kurdikov includes portraits of his contemporaries and countrymen of the author: writers, actors, artists, clergy, and others. A special place is occupied by portraits of people survivors of the Great Patriotic War: the rank and file soldiers, guerrillas, Heroes of the Soviet Union, those who went to the front, who remained in besieged towns and villages, who worked in the rear, and survives to this day.
Section Commemoration of the Great Patriotic War of the collection Memory of the Great Victory has been enriched with photographs of individual memorials and monuments located in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
