Museums of Russia: The updated exposition of the Glinka Museum of Musical Culture enriched with unique exhibits
The Glinka Museum of Musical Culture (Moscow) hosted the updated exposition “Musical instruments of the peoples of the world”. It includes about 700 exhibits, many of which are on display for the first time.
Visitors will see unique items: from the oldest to psaltery of the XIII century, found during the excavations of ancient Novgorod, - to contemporary electronic and musical instruments and a giant drum set.
The museum's collection is also enriched with curiosities of the XVIII-XXI centuries, including the zither, shawm, Spanish guitar, as well as the reconstruction of “Scythian” Harp of the III century BC. In addition, after the restoration the public is available again the world's first synthesizer sounds photoelectron ANS invented by scientist Evgeny Murzin in 1938.
To see the updated exposition is possible via a guide or by yourself: the services of visitors - a bilingual audio guide. In addition, detailed information and interesting facts from the history is presented with instruments and can be accessed through special interactive panels.
The exposition of the Glinka Museum - one of the largest in the world, it includes instruments from Russia, Europe, Asia, America, Africa and Australia.
