Publishing and Book Distribution: IX Krasnoyarsk Book Culture Fair

IX Krasnoyarsk Book Culture Fair takes place from October 28 to November 1, 2015. The main theme of this event is "A Map of Native Land: An Artistic Familiarization with a Space."

Organizers of the fair together with its participants will try to analyze the Russian cultural context, to understand the mechanisms responsible for the cultural code and a new language in art and literature.

250 publishers from all over Russia will present their new items, taking more than 20 round tables and discussions, in which publishers, writers, poets, travelers and researchers will discuss how important is the different areas (especially Siberia) on the cultural map of Russia, how travel interacts with the literature, where the civilizations moves and why poets go out into the cities.

On the results of traditional debate of the “Nose” literary award the short list of nominees will be build.

As part of the "Around the Place" exhibition program an interactive installation will be created, showing different ways for the artists to interact with the literary and linguistic spaces. In the "Area Code" media laboratory residents will share how they imagine Krasnoyarsk and compare their views with the vision of the city residents of other regions of Russia. In the "Travelogue" laboratory journalists will tell about their experiences of describing the travels.
