Russian language abroad: Days of the Russian Word are taking place in Armenia for the eighth time

The Days of the Russian Word are taking place October 19-23, 2015 in Armenia for the eighth time, informed the press secretary of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Yerevan Liana Azoyan.

"This year program of the Days of the Russian Word in Armenia will focus in particular on the activities related to the Year of Literature held in Russia," said Azoyan.

According to her, the Days of the Russian Word will include the Second International Theoretical and Practical Conference for teachers, students, undergraduates and graduate students of Armenia and Russia, "The Russian language as a means of realization of interdisciplinary communications in the modern paradigm of education," as well as lectures, scientific, practical and methodical seminars. This year off-site lectures will be held in Yerevan, Nor-Achin, Masis and Aparan.

A spokesman for the RCSC said that a representative Russian delegation will arrive to Armenia. It will include prominent Russian scientists - historians, culture experts, linguists, specialists in Russian literature and Russian philology, authors of innovative methods in teaching Russian as a foreign and non-native language.

The Days of the Russian Word are held in the framework of the federal target program "Russian Language" on the initiative of Rossotrudnichestvo under the support of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Yerevan, as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia.
