History and culture: “St. Basil Cathedral. View of contemporaries-2015” exhibition in Moscow

From October 13, 2015 to January 18, 2016, the Gallery of the Resurrection Gate of the State Historical Museum (Moscow) is hosting the exhibition "St. Basil Cathedral. View of contemporaries-2015."

The annual exhibition highlights the outstanding architectural monument, St. Basil Cathedral.

More than 30 works displayed at the Gallery of the Resurrection Gate are united by the time and place of creation - all of them were born in 2015, as part of the art festival "Drawing the St. Basil Cathedral" and of the training of students from the S. Andriyaka Watercolor School. Among them we can find a landscape and interior paintings, graphics, pictures of objects of arts and crafts, and historical subjects.

The Cathedral of the Intercession on the Moat, also known as St. Basil's Cathedral, has been decorating the Red Square in Moscow for more than 450 years. The exhibition "St. Basil's Cathedral. View of contemporaries-2015" will show us the world-famous Memorial Church from the angle, which is not covered by scientific papers and tourist guides. Works by amateurs and professionals, university students and children's art studios are filled with bright colors of the first impression and an open emotionality.
