Russian culture abroad: The Russian art of the XX century first presented at the exhibition in the United Arabic Emirates
The first large-scale exposition of Russian and Soviet art of the XX century is opened on October 6, 2015 in the capital of the United Arabic Emirates – Abu Dhabi, said at the foundation Art Russe, which is the organizer of the exhibition.
According to representative of the foundation, the exposition “Collection of Russian and Soviet Art of the XX century Art Russe: War and Peace” includes more than 120 works created in different genres and reflecting the stages of development of Russian school of art over the past century.
Four sections of the exhibition – Heritage of war”, “Nature and beauty”, “Meditations” and “Work”, - cover as the events of the Great Patriotic War and the moments of the everyday life of the Xoviet man in the works of artists of different generations.
Visitors will be able to see works of prominent Soviet sculptors Vera Mukhina and Yevgeny Vuchetin, still lifes of famous painters Alexander Gerasimov and Alexei Grizai, landscapes of the founder of the severe style Nikolai Andronov and showing nature of Kyrgyzstan Semen Chuikov, portraits of Abram Arkhipov and Alexander Bubnov, as well as canvases of the Russian-American artist Nikolai Feshin, brothers Tkachevs, Nikolai Roerich and other painters.
Since 2012 the foundation Art Russe implements educational projects to promote Russian art aimed at returning the world cultural context of works of the period 1917-1991.
