Exhibitions: The exhibition “Defenders of the Fatherland. The Military-Historical theme of lacquer miniature painting” opened in Primorye
In the exhibition halls of the Primorye State Picture Gallery (Vladivostok) was opened an exhibition "Defenders of the Fatherland. Military-Historical theme of lacquer miniature painting".
The exhibition introduces to the most outstanding works of miniature lacquer painting in the collection of arts and crafts and folk art of Russia, which the State Museum and Exhibition Centre "ROSIZO" holds.
Russian art has always been sensitive to respond to events of national history. No exception are creative arts and crafts masters. Dedicated to the anniversary of the Great Victory exhibition "Fatherland Defenders" is intended to show how the military-historical theme was reflected in the production of the famous commercial centers of Russia - Mstera, Palekh, Fedoskino Kholui and - where during the XIX and XX centuries, was successfully developed a kind of art of lacquer miniature.
For a project in memory of the Great Patriotic War there were selected more than 60 exhibits - caskets and boxes decorated with murals depicting scenes of epic battles and real military victories. Among their heroes are military leaders from Alexander Nevsky to Georgy Zhukov, and the soldiers of the "Lay" and characters of ancient epic - tales about heroes, like Ilya Muromets.
Development of the theme of peace, which protects Russian soldiers, was a collection of hand-made dolls, made by students of the International School of Linguistics. The exhibition features 11 dolls in folk costumes of different women to the Russian provinces of the XIX century.
The exhibition will run until November 22.
