Information technology and libraries: The first “Virtual library” in the Archangelsk region opened in Severodvinsk

November 3, 2015 the first “Virtual library” in the Arkhangelsk region started working in the city Central Department Store in Severodvinsk.

The stand with virtual “book shelves” is set on the first floor of the department store. The site is stylized for business office, where you can comfortably sit in the chairs, not only with virtual, but also a printed book. Virtual bookcase is the shelves with books, on the roots of which are shown QR-code.

On the shelves of the Virtual bookcase are presented treasures of classical Russian literature of 19-20 centuries.

Reading books on mobile devices is becoming more popular and is in demand, so the members of the municipal library system of the Arkhangelsk region with the support of partner organizations decided to try to offer the residents of the city such an innovative form of library service.
