History of Russia: The exhibition “Karbyshev. Undefeated general” in Saint-Petersburg
November 7, 2015 at the Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps (St. Petersburg) is opened the exhibition "Karbyshev. Undefeated general". It is dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the outstanding military engineer Dmitry Mikhailovich Karbyshev whose feat in Soviet times became a textbook.
The exhibition presents documents related to the life and work of D. M. Karbyshev, his scientific works. Visitors will see the documents of the period of the Civil War, drawings developed by D. M. Karbyshev in the construction of Brest-Litovsk with his autograph, manuals and memos. Among the exhibits - a full track record of Captain D. M. Karbyshev of 1911, the real picture of Captain Karbyshev of 1916, note with home address, written by D. M. Karbyshev in July 1941 and left surrounded by P. M. Lychkovsky.
A special place in the new exhibition is given to the feat of the general Karbyshev awfully tortured by the Nazis in a concentration camp. This section presents the personal belongings of Soviet prisoners of war who were in concentration camps, as well as materials related to the hero of remembrance.
