Internet and history: Virtual photo exhibition “Moscow – Saint-Petersburg. Two capitals in the lens of history” is presented

At the website of the Main Archive of Moscow and at the information website of archival institutions of St. Petersburg is presented a virtual exhibition "Moscow – Saint-Petersburg. Two capitals in the lens of history".

Virtual exhibition tells the history of Moscow and St. Petersburg in the different decades of the XX century. The exposition - unique works of Moscow and St. Petersburg photographers from funds of the Main Archive of Moscow and the Central State Archive of Film in Petersburg. Visitors will see the pictures of the "father of Russian photo essay" Karl Bulla; master of reportage and artistic photography Boris Ignatovich; photojournalist Michael Trakhman; photo chroniclers of the postwar life in Leningrad and Moscow Kirill Ovchinnikov and other famous photographers. The peculiarity of the exhibition is that the image of Moscow consists of works created by the masters of St. Petersburg, and the northern capital - Moscow.
