World history and culture: The exhibition “Treasures of the Sarmatians” from the collections of the Azov Museum-Reserve in Kaliningrad

December 18, 2015 in the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum for the first time is opening the exhibition "Treasures of the Sarmatians" from the collections of the Azov Historical-Archaeological and Paleontological Museum.

The exhibition features nearly 2,500 items. These are works of ancient art, everyday life, military affairs, discovered during archaeological excavations in the territory of the Rostov region in the mounds of the Sarmatian period. Amphorae, jugs, cups and vessels for wine, a variety of household items, weapons, jewelry, religious items reflect the spiritual world and the cultural identity of the ancient steppe population.

The Azov Museum-Reserve has participated in major international and Russian exhibition projects. At the exhibition in Kaliningrad it is exhibited only a small part of the fund collection, chronologically covering the period from the IV century BC to the IV century BC.

The exhibition "Treasures of the Sarmatians" will run until February 25, 2016.
