Museums of Russia: The new building of the depository of the World Ocean Museum is opened in Kaliningrad

December 11, 2015 at the World Ocean Museum (Kaliningrad) will be open the new building of the museum – fund depository. It combines modern technology and the appearance of the old city. The fund storage of the museum, in addition to the items in the collection will house an archive, library, printing and education center "OKEANIA"

As part of the ceremony will be held a presentation ceremony of the exhibition "Depth", which is located on 800 square meters. The exhibition - a collection of barometers, current meters of hydro physical probes, instruments and equipment for underwater shooting, exploring the depths and optical properties, the deep-water technology and many others.

The World Ocean Museum in Kaliningrad - Russia's first specialized maritime museum devoted to various aspects of science and human activities related to the oceans of the planet. It is formed on April 12, 1990. In the exhibition halls of the museum are presented marine aquariums, collections of shells and corals, exhibits on the history of oceanography, hydrology and ocean shipping.
