Internet and history: The virtual exhibition “By Verb and Bayonet. Russian writers on military service”

On December 31, 2015 the Russian State Military Historical Archive (RGVIA) presents a virtual exhibition "By Verb and Bayonet. Russian writers on military service", prepared by the archive in Year of Literature-2015.

It is no secret that many Russian writers: poets, writers, playwrights, - a certain part of their life dedicated to military service. For some of them it was only an episode in the biography, for others - a matter of life. Documents witnessed these events are stored in the collections of the Russian archives.

The exhibition features documents from the Russian State Military Historical Archive and the Russian State Military Archives: service records and official lists, orders, name lists, reports, petitions and evidence serving to illustrate the biographies of famous Russian writers.
