Memory of the world: The exhibition “The Russian memorial weapon” in Saint-Petersburg

The Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps (St. Petersburg) on February 20, 2016 on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, opens the exhibition "Russian memorial weapon".

Among the exhibits - the real weapon monuments of the XIX - early XX century from the collections of the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps. Many of them have been "discovered" recently and exhibited for the first time. The visitors, in particular, will be able to see the items that belonged to members of the Romanov family: the sword and the rifle of the Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolayevich, rifle of Duke George of Mecklenburg, awarding sword of Alexander II.

The main focus of the exhibition is made on military weapons and some samples that were used as an integral component of clothing form, military or civilian.

A separate group is donated weapon: dueling pistols of General Velyaminov, a saber of Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich, Zlatoust blade checkers of General A. A. Gerngross, which features 134 signatures of the officers, clerks and doctors of Security guards of the Chinese Eastern Railway, which superior he was.
