History of Russia: The exhibition “Persistence and strength of the “weak” to the 73rd anniversary of Victory at Stalingrad in the Volgograd region

On the eve of the celebrated on February 2 the memorable date – the 73rd anniversary of Victory at Stalingrad – at the Mikhailovsky Regional Museum with the support of the Volgograd regional department of the Russian Military-Historical Society was solemnly opened the exhibition “Persistence and strength of the “weak”, prepared by the Memorial and Historical Museum – the department of the Museum-Reserve “The Battle of Stalingrad”. 

The exhibition reveals the role of women in the history of Tsaritsyno – Stalingrad, giving idea of the role of women in different spheres of life in the early XX century and the first decades of the Soviet authority, telling of women participation in the Civil and he Great Patriotic War, their military and labor feats.

A separate section of the exhibition exposition is dedicated to women participation in the reconstruction of the destroyed by war Stalingrad, the development of “Cherkassov movement”.

Along with the materials from the collections of the Museum-Reserve “The Battle of Stalingrad” the visitors are presented exhibits from the collection of Mikhailovsky Regional Museum.

The exhibition runs until the end of March 2016.
