Book publishing and book distribution: The Paris Book Salon

18 March 2016

From March 17-20, 2016 is held the Paris Book Salon where Russia presents the vast program of events addressed to professionals of the publishing and ordinary readers - lovers of word expression.

At the national stand are housed the news of Russian publishing - about 500 titles from more than 30 local publishing houses. The main focus - taking into account the preferences of the French public – is given to the modern literature. We present new books issued to two significant anniversaries of 2016 - the 125th anniversary of the birth of Osip Mandelstam and the 125th anniversary of Mikhail Bulgakov.

A separate section of the exhibition, prepared in collaboration with the Foundation for Socio-economic and intellectual programs of Sergei Filatov, - are the works of young Russian writers.

At the Russian stand is provided, as usual, "the author's playground" for seminars, "round tables", meetings with authors and presentations that all the days of the salon will be running in nonstop mode.

Most of the program this year at the Salon is offered by the Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language. Beyond the traditional advice for all students of the Russian language, the institute will present at the stand the Russian magazine "Russian language abroad", as well as their own educational programs and projects. The Russian Centre of Science and Culture will hold a press conference of the Institute "Modern tools of promotion of the Russian language in France", and open literary salon in the famous residence of the Russian Ambassador, where visitors can listen to a lecture "A hungry taste of Paris": the paradoxes of Pushkin's poetics", and together to speculate on this topic.

In addition to activities the Russian stand will also hold a seminar for students of Russian language of the Sorbonne University: "100 years ago in Moscow. Meeting of Osip Mandelstam and Marina Tsvetaeva and her "artistic effects".
