Society and book culture: The exhibition “The letter, the word, the text in art” in Saint-Petersburg

The Fund of artist Mikhail Shemyakin in St. Petersburg hosts the exhibition "The letter, the word, the text in art".

Two halls are occupied by the exhibits, but that's only a small part of its vast archive of unique research, says the artist, sculptor, art historian, author of a large-scale project "Imaginary Museum of Mikhail Shemyakin. Anthology of forms".

The exposition of a scientific material exhibits all the variety of images on the theme "The letter, the word, the text of art": starting with ancient Babylon (cuneiform) and ending with contemporary art.

According to the exhibition curator Galina Mikhailova, Deputy Artistic Director of the "Artist Mikhail Shemyakin Foundation", the exhibition consists of more than 60 sections.

The exhibition "The letter, the word, the text of art" has already visited Novosibirsk, Maikop. In St. Petersburg, it is open until April 24 and then will travel to Kaliningrad.
