History and culture: The exhibition “Crimean vacations. View from Peterhof”

The exhibition "Crimean vacations. View from Peterhof" was opened at the Museum of Benoit family (Museum-Reserve "Peterhof").

At the heart of the exhibition - a selection of postcards, telling the story of the Crimean rest of the Romanov family. Stored in the holdings of the State Museum "Peterhof" an extensive collection of N. P. Schmitt-Fogelevich, well-known St. Petersburg deltiologist, allowed on the material of the early XX century publications tell about the palace and park residences of Southshore and life on the coast of princely owners. Visitors will be able to see: the estate of Alexander I "Oreanda", the Massandra Palace of Alexander III, palaces of Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolayevich, Peter Nikolaevich and Dmitry Konstantinovich in the estates "Kharaks", "Dulber", "Kichkin", "Chair" - the Palace of the Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolayevich and the snow-white Livadia Palace - the residence of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II.

A number of mass lottery postcards complement the unique materials from the collections of the Peterhof archive "Film and Photo Documents" - the official photo chronicle and amateur photography. They captured the scenes of summer pastime of the imperial and grand-ducal families - rest on the beach, walking, military parades regiment, important events of personal life. Of particular interest are the original drawings of the Grand Duchesses Anastasia Nikolayevna and Maria Nikolayevna made on postcards, while relaxing in Livadia (1913).
