President of Russia: Vladimir Putin will visit Athos within the 1000 anniversary of the Russian monastic presence

May 28, 2016 President of Russia Vladimir Putin will visit Mount Athos in connection with the 1000 anniversary of the Russian monastic presence.

On the Holy Mountain, Vladimir Putin will visit the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, will meet with members of the Holy Kinot and then arrive in Russian St. Panteleimon Monastery, where in the presence of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill will be held a ceremony for the anniversary of Russian monastic presence on Mount Athos. There will be a short prayer and a greeting by the monks.

Also, Vladimir Putin and Patriarch Kirill will perform at the ceremony and take part in other activities.
