Russian regions: The exhibition of copies of archival documents “General history: Crimea and the Pskov province” in Pskov
Since May 11, 2016 in the foyer of the Pskov Regional Universal Library is running an exhibition of copies of archival documents "General History: Crimea and the Pskov province", which was prepared by the State Archives of the Pskov region with the participation of the insurance fund and archival management offices and audiovisual documents GAPO.
The exhibition is dedicated to the signing of a contract to join the Russian Federation, the two new entities: the Crimea and Sevastopol.
The exhibition includes documents of Pskov residents, whose names are inextricably linked with the history of the Crimea and the Black Sea Fleet. Among them – F. A. Klokachev - the first commander of the Black Sea Fleet, A. M. Dondukov-Korsakov - member of the Crimean War, A. M. Borozdin - Taurian civil governor, M. I. Kutuzov - Governor General of Crimea.
Documents tell about resettlement of peasants from Pskov province to empty the Crimean land, the participation of the inhabitants of the Pskov province in raising funds for the construction of the temple of the Holy Prince Vladimir on the ruins of ancient Chersonese, collecting donations for the construction of Sevastopol temple of St. Nicholas - a monument to the fallen soldiers who defended Sevastopol during the Crimean war monuments to the device at the site of Sevastopol defense.
A number of documents of the exhibition is dedicated to the militias in the Pskov province during the Crimean War.
At the exhibition you can see the documents on land holdings in the Pskov province of A. G. Potemkin-Tavrichesky (1781), a list of things made available to the bishop and Pskov Hermogenes (1885), who is prior to the appointment to the Pskov diocese Bishop Tauride and Simferopol.
Information about the geographical position of the Crimean Peninsula, the cities of Taurian province are exhibited of the textbook by A. Baranov "Geography of the Russian Empire. With geographical maps and drawings in the text" (1911).
The exhibition will run until the end of June 2016.
