Exhibitions: Works by Kirill Kustodiev are presented in Astrakhan within the project “History in Faces”

On June 16, 2016 in the B. M. Kustodiev House-Museum in Astrakhan began its work the stock exhibition "Kirill, son of Boris" which takes place in the framework of the project "History in Faces". It is dedicated to the creative activity of Kirill Borisovich Kustodiev (1903-1971), and is timed to the 45th anniversary of the death of the artist. Son of the famous masters continued the tradition of the family head, becoming a painter-decorator.

The aim of the exhibition is to introduce visitors to the museum with a variety of artistic heritage of K. B. Kustodiev.

The first section of the exhibition presents drawings by Boris Kustodiev, depicting his son Kirill being teenager. Created at different times, they are included in Kustodiev collection of the P. M. Dogadin Art Gallery.

Bright, catchy graphic works of Kirill, made mainly in watercolors, including illustrations for the works of the classics of Russian literature - Lermontov, Tolstoy, Gorky ("Hero of Our Time", "The Cossacks", "Death and the Maiden") made up the second section of the exhibition.

His paintings also presented - "Portrait of Tatyana Kustodiyeva", "Portrait of a Woman" and the urban landscape "Yard".

The third section - photos and documents - tells about the life of Kirill Kustodiev. Many of the photos are exhibited for the first time. These are four graphic works by father and about 30 works of the son from the collection of the gallery, a series of photos from the photo archives of the Kustodiev House-Museum.
