World history and culture: The exhibition “Christianity in the Golden Horde” in Astrakhan

June 10, 2016 in Astrakhan Local History Museum within the project "Museum Weekend" opens the exhibition "Christianity in the Golden Horde". Each subject has its own exposition of the real story, in which fates of the conquerors and the conquered - Russia and the Golden Horde intertwined.

Visitors of the exhibition will see items of such Christian worship as crosses and icons, found during excavations of the Golden Horde settlements in the Astrakhan region.

Renowned archaeologist Dmitry Vasiliev will tell about each of the findings, some of them have worldwide fame, while others will be exhibited for the first time.
