History and culture: The exhibition “Host of Heaven and Earth” in the Museum-Reserve “Kulikovo Field”

The village Monastyrshchino in the Tula region until January 15, 2017 hosts an exhibition of "Host of Heaven and Earth".

The exhibition for the Museum-Reserve "Kulikovo Field" was provided by the State Museum of the History of Religion in St. Petersburg. It was replaced by a permanent exposition in the Museum and Memorial complex in the village of Monastyrshchino.

At the exhibition visitors are waiting for an acquaintance with the Orthodox relics of XVII-XX centuries. These are miraculous images associated with the history of the Battle of Kulikovo, the Polish-Lithuanian intervention, the Patriotic War of 1812. The image of the Archangel Michael, the holy warriors of Christ, George and Demetrios, Saint Prince Boris and Gleb, Bogolyubsky, Alexander Nevsky, the miraculous image-Palladium, guarding the ancient city and depicted on the battle banners, revered as the saviors of the enemy - they are all witnesses victories and defeats of the Russian army.

Among the exhibits - paintings and drawings, icons from the iconostasis of the church and regimental churches, rural churches in Konchanskoe estate owned by the commander A. V. Suvorov. The museum showcases present vestments of the priests of the Orthodox Church marching regiment, and premium crosses the clergy of 1812, commemorative coin in honor of favorite churches in Moscow militia crosses…
