The Year of Russian Cinema-2016: The exhibition “History of Cinematography in manuscripts of the National Library of Russia” in Saint-Petersburg
July 13, 2016 in the main building of the National Library of Russia (St. Petersburg) to the Year of Russian cinema is opened the exhibition "History of Cinematography in manuscripts of the National Library of Russia".
The exhibition shows unique documents from the Department of Manuscripts of NLR funds, related to the history of the national cinema. These are screenplays, reviews, music autographs, costumes and scenery for films, letters of famous actors, directors, writers, rare photographs.
Among them - the autographs of directors Vsevolod Pudovkin, Mikhail Romm, Ilya Averbach, Vladimir Gardin, actress Vera Karalli, writers Mikhail Zoshchenko, Ivan Kataev, Viktor Nekrasov.
For the first time visitors will show autographs of famous musical composers: Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Alexander Glazunov, Vladimir Deshevov, Nicholas Strelnikov, whose work became the basis for the musical films of various genres: film, opera, film, ballet, cartoon and musical comedy.
Individual attention is paid to graphics art director Vasily Zachinyaev and poster artist Eugene Tishchenko.
The exposition is complemented with posters to films.
The exhibition will be open until August 30.
