
Information technology and museums: The pilot multimedia project with elements of augmented reality is presented in the Viatka Art Museum
The Vyatka Art Museum was the first area where at the permanent exposition was implemented a pilot multimedia project with elements of augmented reality.
November 15, 2016 in the Vyatka Art Museum was held a round table "Media + Museum" with the participation of more than 50 representatives of regional and municipal museums of the Volga Federal District and the North-Western Federal District. During the event, the presentation of mobile applications, "The Art of Restoration" a pilot multimedia project with elements of augmented reality.
In Kirov experts of the Academician Igor Grabar Metropolitan Scientific and Restoration Center showed how to use an ordinary smart phone, you can see a piece of art in augmented reality at all stages of its restoration. To do this, you just have to bring the gadget to the exhibits.
The application presentation took place in the framework of a mobile photo exhibition "The Art of Restoration", where 13 photo panels depicting the restored objects from different Russian museums were presented. Roundtable participants tested the application performance and location of this museum exhibition - the example of the Vyatka Art Museum exhibits presented at the exhibition "Heaven writes with saint paints". They were also restored by the experts of Grabar Center.
