History and Culture: Archaeological findings are presented at the exhibition "The Story of a house…" in Voronezh
December 23, 2016 in the Voronezh Regional Museum was opened an exhibition "The Story of a house…", prepared in cooperation with the Archaeological Museum of the Voronezh State University. The exhibition introduces visitors to the history of the noble residence, which was located on the current address: Voronezh, the Platonov Street, 9-11. The exhibition includes unique exhibits from the collections of museums funds - more than 300 household objects of provincial townspeople, merchants and nobles. Some rarities were discovered during archaeological excavations on the estate in 2015. Their implementation has allowed finding out that in place of the manor town existed virtually since its inception (1585-1586). Therefore the history of the house, or rather the place of its construction reflects the major milestones of the last provincial center. The exhibition is addressed to a wide audience: in addition to experts and archaeologists, ethnographers and historians, it will be interesting to all Voronezh residents and visitors of the city and the region.
