The exhibition "History of Russia in Photographs. 1946-1964" was opened at the Gallery of Modern Art (Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan).
The exhibition "History of Russia in Photographs. 1946-1964" continues the program of the Moscow Multimedia Art Museum "History of Russia in photographs. Chronicle of Russia", initiated by the museum in 1997.
The exhibition presents works of the classics of Russian photogrpah - Dmitry Baltermants, Lev Borodulin, Vsevolod Tarasevich, Victor Akhlomov, Valery Gende-Rote, Robert Diament, Emmanuel Evzerihin, Vladislav Mikosha, Alexander Ustinov and etc. - and photographs of great Soviet photographers, whose work is not so well known to the general public - Mikhail Grachev, Anatoly Morozov, Nikolai Volkov, Semen Mishin-Morgenstern and others.
The exhibition presents works illustrating the recovery period of Russia after the Great Patriotic War and the return to civilian life. The pictures reflect the major events of those years, for example, the celebration of 800 anniversary of Moscow, the XX Party Congress, honoring the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, Academician Landau awarded the Nobel Prize. Also at the focus of the exhibition - everyday life, achievements in the field of education, science, culture and sports.
The exhibition "Russian History in Photographs. 1946-1964" - a chronicle, which included footage from a variety of geographic locations of the country, from Moscow to Chelyabinsk, from Norilsk to Crimea, from Leningrad to Vladivostok. And of course, in the lens of photographers - faces. Those children, scientists, workers, writers, poets, actors, students, musicians, athletes - a collective portrait on the background of the time.
