15 December 2016

From 15 to 16 December 2016 in the M. N. Yermolova House-Museum – the branch of the A. A. Bakhrushin Theatre Museum (Moscow) – is held the International Scientific Conference "Bakhrushin readings" on "Theatre in movement of epochs".

The main Scientific Conference of the A. A. Bakhrushin Theatre Museum named after the founder of the Museum Alexey Bakhrushin, is held for the first time in 2016. The name is not accidental - the famous industrialist, a passionate collector, creating his collection of materials on the history of Russian theater, and laid the foundations of scientific attitude to the museum's collection. A. A. Bakhrushin not only professionally completed his collection and created for its storage requirement, but also studied in detail and knew the history of every object acquired by him. While serving as director of the museum (until 1929), he successfully continued this activity, attaching young specialists.

The idea of the organizers of the conference is to create a platform for a lively scientific discussion about the history and current trends in the Russian and foreign theater. Reading programs, which this year are devoted to the theme "Theatre in movement of epochs", includes two days of intense work.

The range of topics for presentation and discussion is wide: from the history of Russian theater and literary classics on the stage to the issues of modern drama and new forms of theatrical art in the beginning of the XXI century. The focus will be different and sometimes unexpected aspects of the history and contemporary theater.
