Society and Culture: International Scientific Conference "D. S. Merezhkovsky: writer - critic - theologian" in Moscow

From 8 to 10 December 2016 is held the International scientific conference "D. S. Merezhkovsky: writer - critic - theologian. To the 75th anniversary of the death of a thinker" in the Library Russian philosophy and culture "House of A. F. Losev".

During the conference will be discussed various aspects of the art of the outstanding theoretician of symbolism: peculiarities of poetics, the perception of cultural tradition - from antiquity to the Russian classics of the XIX century, translation principles, religious-theological and socio-political views, relationships with contemporaries - "distant" and "close "- writers and philosophers.

The conference is attended by researchers from leading academic institutions in Russia - from the Institute of World Literature of the Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Russian Literature ("Pushkin House"), the Institute of Philosophy, the Moscow State University, the St. Petersburg State University. A very extensive and geographical is the landscape of the participants – researchers of not only from Moscow and St. Petersburg, but from very different regions of the country (Vladimir, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Saratov, Smolensk, Tyumen, Yoshkar-Ola, Ulan-Ude). Among the speakers - guests from abroad: in the UK, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, the USA, France and Japan.
