Memorable dates of Russia: Literary contest to the 200th anniversary of Ivan Turgenev is announced

2018 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Turgenev. In honor of this event, the Publishing house "Orel literature and book publishing" together with associate I. S. Turgenev Orel State Literary Museum and the I. S. Turgenev Orel State University launches contest "Worship to Motherland".

To participate are invited as representatives of the creative unions, and everyone, including those who only tries their hand at literary work.

The competition is held in three categories: prose, poetry and children's and teenage creativity (for participants under 16 years). For the contest are accepted stories, essays, essays, poems and songs in Russian. Also it is allowed the original author's definition of the genre. Themes of works: patriotism and citizenship, the beauty of Russian nature, spiritual shrines of Russia, love for one's neighbor, the national mentality, the best features of the Russian people, the meaning and the essence of human existence, Russian abroad, Europe and the Russian culture, the richness and uniqueness of the Russian language.

The works will be accepted until December 16, 2017. The winners will be announced on October 28, 2018, on the day of the 200th anniversary of the birth of I. S. Turgenev.
