Society and Church: The XXV International Christmas Educational Readings "1917-2017: Lessons of the Century" in Moscow
January 25, 2017 in the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow took place the grand opening of the jubilee XXV International Christmas Educational Readings "1917-2017: Lessons of the Century". The opening and plenary session of the forum was headed by the chairman of the International Christmas Readings Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
The work of commemorative Christmas readings, which take place from 25 to 27 January 2017, is conducted in 16 directions, the participants will discuss topics such as the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church during the period of persecution, the Church's life and patristic tradition, the history of the Orthodox church construction, the social mission of the Church and others.
January 26 will be held the V Christmas Parliamentary meetings. They will be devoted to discussion of topical issues of social interaction, social service, Russia's historical path, the modern development of the country.
The Readings will be attended by over 15 thousand people from Russia, CIS and foreign countries (Greece, the United States, Britain, Germany, Canada, France, Switzerland).
In recent years the Reading include a regional stage, which is attended by all the regions of Russia, as well as the diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad and the international stage, which, according to tradition, is held in Moscow in late January.
