
Russian regions: The exhibition "City on the Dvina" dedicated to the 80th anniversary since the establishment of the Arkhangelsk region
January 22, 2017 at the Museum of folk arts and crafts of Primorye (the Arkhangelsk region) was opened the exhibition "City on the Dvina" dedicated to the 80th anniversary since the establishment of the Arkhangelsk region.
The exhibition presents the period from the late nineteenth century to the 30s of the twentieth century. During this time, the region has changed several names: "Arkhangelsk Province", "Northern Territory", "Northern area", finally, "Arkhangelsk Oblast". It was passed a hard way during the difficult period of history. Here is the destruction and the creation, war and peace, harmony and chaos.
The exposition features apparent to almost idyllic views of Arkhangelsk and Arkhangelsk province in the photographs and postcards from the collection of Arkhangelsk collector Alexander Ivanovich Sidorov; Artwork by Vladimir Danilovich Treshchev and digested thirties with their indomitable energy and thirst for transformation. Today’s day is coming back with the image of snowboarders from Koskovo.
