
History and culture: International conference «XXVIII Derzhavin readings» in St. Petersburg
The Pushkin National Museum and the G. R. Derzhavin Museum-Estate (St. Petersburg) on January 20, 2017 organize the International Conference "XXVIII Derzhavin readings", which will take place in the main building of the G. R. Derzhavin Museum-Estate.
The conference is traditionally timed to the anniversary of the meeting of the young Pushkin and Derzhavin in the exam in the Tsar's Lyceum. Reports of Russian and foreign researchers will focus on the problems of the biography and works of Derzhavin. One of the main features of his poetry is openness to other art forms, first of all, music. Therefore, the conference in addition to research reports will present opera arias. Interest in Derzhavin around the world is growing. On the practice of studying of creativity of the Great Russian poet in America will tell the professor of the Brown University A. A. Levitsky.
As part of the conference there will be a held a presentation of the documentary film "To exalt the Russian word" (author of the script - the Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation S. M. Nekrasov, the director - Honored Artist of Russia K. V. Artyukhov).
