History of St. Petersburg: The exhibition "Petersburg and its surroundings" was opened

The exhibition "Petersburg and its surroundings" was opened on March 10, 2017 in the exhibition hall of the Ioannovsky Ravelin of the Peter and Paul Fortress (St. Petersburg).

The exhibition presents watercolors of the St. Petersburg artist Valery Alexandrov.

Valery Alexandrov took part in the restoration of the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Petrodvorets and the Manezh Cadet Corps on the University Embankment in St. Petersburg. From 2003 to the present time he works in the "Tsarskoye Selo Amber Workshop" as a designer and engraver in amber. For years of work in Tsarskoe Selo Valery Alexandrov was the author and executor of the exposition project "History of the Amber Room", developed the design of a cafe in the Catherine Palace, took part in the restoration of Agate rooms in the Catherine Park.

In addition to restoration activities, Valery Alexandrov works a lot and fruitfully in watercolor technique, creating lyrical, sometimes fantasy notes, landscapes of St. Petersburg and its environs. Presented in the Peter and Paul Fortress exhibition is the artist's creative report for the past few years.
