Memory of Russia: Innovative event "Tour of the planetarium", dedicated to the anniversary of the first woman-cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, in Yaroslavl

11 March 2017

The V. V. Tereshkova Cultural and Educational Center (Yaroslavl) on March 11, 2017 conducts an innovative event "Tour of the planetarium", dedicated to the anniversary of the first female cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union Valentina Tereshkova.

2017 is marked by remarkable jubilees.

March 6, the Yaroslavl region together with the whole of Russia celebrated the anniversary of the first woman-cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union Tereshkova Valentina Vladimirovna.

October 4, 1957, the first artificial Earth satellite was launched. From that moment the counting of the cosmic era of mankind began.

In commemoration of these events, the V. V. Tereshkova Cultural and Educational Center in the K. E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics (Kaluga) is implementing the innovative project "Tour of the Planetarians" (March 11-13, 2017 Yaroslavl - March 17-19, 2017 City of Kaluga).

March 11, 2017 in the V. V. Tereshkova Center will be held the opening of a complex of actions within the framework of the project.

The project will begin with a video presentation of the K. E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, which exhibition "In the Infinity of the Universe he fascinated by the dream: the world of Tsiolkovsky on the big screen" traces the long history of the appeal of the masters of cinema to the creation of the artistic image of the founder of theoretical cosmonautics K. E. Tsiolkovsky. The main event will be the presentation and display of the full-dome program of the Kaluga Planetarium for residents of Yaroslavl and its guests.

In its turn, on March 17-19, 2017 the V. V. Tereshkova Cultural and Educational Center will show its own full-dome and interactive programs in the city of Kaluga. The Center organizes an exhibition "Call sign "Chaika" from its collection and funds of the K. E. Tsiolkovsky Cosmonautics Museum and also presents a presentation of the Russian version of the book by astronomer Leslie K. Peltier "The Light of the Night Sky".

The organizers intend to hold a round table "Astronautics and planetariums: creative interaction", on which the creation of a full-dome program on the history of the achievements of Soviet and Russian cosmonautics will be a topic for collegial discussion. With the advent of the first digital planetariums in Russia, interest in studying and mastering the Cosmos by man has sharply increased.

Such an innovative project will be implemented in our country for the first time. Such outreach actions as "Days of Kaluga in Yaroslavl" and "Days of Yaroslavl in Kaluga" will allow residents in their regions to visit the unique audiovisual full-dome programs of the partner cities of Yaroslavl and Kaluga, which will become "star bridges".
