In the Museum of military uniforms of the Russian Military Historical Society (Moscow), an exhibition of Olga Lander, the only female photojournalist who passed the entire Great Patriotic War at the front, was opened. Unique photographs from the front, as well as related historical facts and personal histories of war participants are available to visitors of the exposition in the format AR (augmented reality) thanks to the mobile application ARTEFACT.

The exposition "Olga Lander. The Augmented Reality of War" combined archival documents and more than 60 rare photographs taken by photographer Olga Lander at the Great Patriotic Front: cadres of tank attacks and cult battles, front life and moments of calm between the battles and the long-awaited Victory Day.

The history behind each exhibit can be recognized with the help of the mobile application of the augmented reality ARTEFACT. Pointing the camera at the photo, visitors will receive information about the military uniform and weapons, the circumstances of the captured battles and the life of Olga Lander herself.

ARTEFACT is a joint project of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the portal "Kultura.RF". The supplemented reality application allows all Russian museums to independently download content that complements their expositions, and visitors of the exhibitions learn interesting facts about works of art without the help of a guide.
