Memorable dates of Russia: International conference "Russkiy Mir: Present and Future", timed to the 10th anniversary of foundation of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, in Moscow

On June 21, 2017, the International Conference "Russkiy Mir: Present and Future" was opened in the State Kremlin Palace, timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

Conference participants will discuss questions of identity and consolidation of the Russkiy Mir, preserving classical Russian heritage and development of the Russian language and culture.

Conference will provide an opportunity for all participants to hear opinions of leading experts and express their own attitudes in a format of an open dialogue about current challenges of Russian-speaking community abroad.

Russkiy Mir Foundation was established by decree of Russian President dated 21st of June 2007. The organization deals with Russian language and culture popularization beyond our country. The Foundation opened more than 250 Russian Centers and Cabinets in 76 countries of the world through partnership programmes over the time of its existence. It supported about three thousand grant and partnership cultural educational and linguistic projects.

Around five thousand organizations and societies in more than one hundred countries are partners of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. Specialized scholarship programmes for students, graduates and young scientists are implemented with participation and support of the Foundation. Modern textbooks and multimedia studying materials on the Russian language and literature are published. Large-scale international conferences and major social campaigns are conducted
