Museums of Russia: The "Chambers of Vorontsova" to be opened after restoration in Oranienbaum

June 29, 2017 in the Grand Menshikov Palace Palace and Park Ensemble "Oranienbaum" (the Leningrad region) after the restoration a complex of premises on the ground floor, which entered the history of the Oranienbaum residence as "Vorontsova’s half" or "Chambers of Vorontsova" is opened.

Restoration of the interiors of "Chambers of Vorontsova" was commissioned by the North-West Directorate for Construction, Reconstruction and Restoration. Diana's Hall, Vorochtsova's Golden Door and the Golden Cabinet are decorated with pieces of furniture and decorative and applied art from the XVIII-XIX centuries from the funds of the Peterhof State Museum. In the Cabinet of Duke G. G. Mecklenburg-Strelitzky, the situation of the late XIX - early XX century, was recreated. The furniture of this time is complemented by graphic and photographic materials.

Luxury ceremonial apartments designed for the favorite of the Grand Duke Peter Fedorovich, the maid of honor of Elizabeth Vorontsova (1739-1792) were built in 1758-1759. She was the daughter of the general-an chef of Count Roman Vorontsov and the sister of the famous princess Yekaterina Dashkova.
