Regions of Russia: The photo exhibition "Lighthouses of Kronstadt"
2 August 2017
Until September 10, 2017 in the Museum of History of Kronstadt it is running an exhibition of photographer Oleg Zyryanov "Lighthouses of Kronstadt".
The construction of lighthouses in Russia began even under Peter the Great, when the Russian ships' exit to the open spaces of the seas demanded navigation equipment in the areas where they sailed. The southern fairway, passing by the island of Kotlin and next to Saint-Petersburg, is full of navigational signs, including lighthouses. Here large ships are accompanied by pilots who know the peculiarities of the water area of the Neva Bay. The author suggests visitors to the exhibition to take a photo tour of the most interesting lighthouses in Kronstadt.
