Russian culture abroad: The exhibition “Revolution. From Chagall to Malevich, from Repin to Kandinsky” is presented in Italy
The exhibition "Revolution. From Chagall to Malevich, from Repin to Kandinsky" was opened in the Bologna Museum of Modern Art (Italy).
The exhibition, timed to the anniversary of the 1917 revolution, includes more than 70 masterpieces from the collection of the State Russian Museum, including the works of Natalia Goncharova, Kazimir Malevich, Ilya Mashkov, Vasily Kandinsky, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Ilya Repin, Valentin Serov, Pavel Filonov, Marc Chagall and others. The viewer is presented with a picture of Russian art movements of the early XX century: from primitivism to kubofuturism and suprematism - unfolding in tension between figurative expressionism and pure abstractionism. The exhibition also shows theatrical costumes and documentary photographs.
The exhibition runs until May 13, 2018.
