The Novosibirsk Region Flag is approved by the Novosibirsk Region Law "On the Flag of the Novosibirsk Region" No. 132-OZ dated July 29, 2003.
The Novosibirsk Region Flag is the official symbol of the state-administrative status of the Novosibirsk Region as a full-fledged subject of the Russian Federation. The flag of the Novosibirsk region is a rectangular panel with five different stripes of red, white, blue, white, green colors (from the flagpole (shaft) on the front and back sides, or from left to right, if the flag is deployed). Between the red and green stripes are depicted two black sables holding a yellow loaf with a salt shaker. Below them, the white and blue stripes are intersected by a horizontal narrow belt, black on white stripes and white on blue. The ratio of the width of the bands to the length of the flag is 5: 3: 2: 3: 5, respectively. The ratio of the width of the flag to the length is 2: 3.
