Sergeant Sarkisian's Three Orders of Glory

The Presidential Library's collection continues to be enriched with electronic copies of documents telling about the Great Patriotic War and the Victory, about front-line soldiers and home front workers who brought the Victory Day closer. Family stories, photos, diaries and letters of the participants of the Great Patriotic War can be found in the Presidential Library's large-scale electronic collection Memory of the Great Victory. Recently one of the sections of the collection - Living Memory - has published digitised photos of the full cavalier of the Order of Glory Shagen Sarkisian (1924-2002) given to the library by the relatives of the hero.

Delegation from China visited Presidential Library

On 1 July 2025 the Presidential Library was visited by a delegation of representatives of the Center for Scientific Documentation and Information of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Library of MSU-PPI University in Shenzhen. The event took place within the framework of the two-day international scientific seminar "Creating Bibliographic Resources" organised by the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The meeting was attended by Liu Wanguo, Director of the Library of MSU-PPI University in Shenzhen, Olga Skvortsova, Director of the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and other honoured guests.

"Great Russia" project of Presidential Library tells about creator of Tsar Cannon

The Tsar Cannon, never fired, installed on Ivanovskaya Square of the Moscow Kremlin, is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the gun with the largest calibre - 890 mm. "The weight in the cannon 2400 poods (40 tonnes) - reported Ivan Zabelin in the publication History of the City of Moscow (1905). - Its length is 7.5 arshin (5.3 metres)". The bronze barrel of the cannon is decorated with cast ornamental belts, inscriptions and an equestrian figure of Tsar Feodor Ioannovich, a pious and meek man, unlike his father Ivan the Terrible. But it was at the command of Fyodor Ioannovich, as one of the inscriptions says, that "this cannon was made in the present and reigning city of Moscow in the summer of 7094 (1586) in the third summer of his state. The cannon was made by cannon foundryman Ondrey Chokhov".

Presidential Library marks Youth Day

On the last Saturday of June, Russia celebrates Youth Day. The decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 2 May 2023 on the celebration of this day is available on the Presidential Library's portal. This year Youth Day falls on 28 June.

Presidential Library – participant of annual International Nevsky Forum

The Presidential Library is taking part in the IX International Nevsky Forum "Russia in a Multipolar World: Politics, Economy, Education". The event, organised by the North-West Institute of Management of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, takes place from 26 to 27 June 2025 in the Mariinsky Palace.
